Anka Zink
Anka Zink is a German cabaret artist, comedian, author, and director. Born on March 3, 1957, in Bonn, she currently resides in Cologne. She is recognized for her sharp wit and insightful commentary on political and social issues, often described as the inventor of "comedy with relevance." Her work consistently aims to provide a perspective that encourages laughter rather than anger. Zink initially pursued an academic career, studying sociology in Bielefeld with Niklas Luhmann and earning a diploma. However, she transitioned to a stage career in the early 1980s. She was a founding member of the Springmaus ensemble, initiated by Bill Mockridge in Bonn, where Dirk Bach was among her stage partners. She served as a moderator, performer, and part of the management team at Springmaus. From 1989 to 1990, she joined the Düsseldorfer Kom(m)ödchens, mentored by Lore Lorentz, and collaborated with Harald Schmidt and later Volker Pispers. Since 1991, Zink has primarily performed as a solo cabaret artist, creating twelve comedy programs. She has appeared in numerous radio and television shows, including '7 Tage, 7 Köpfe', 'Genial daneben', and 'Spätschicht'. Her comedy style is characterized by sharp wit and effortless ease, combining insightful observations, humorous stories, and profound thoughts. Audiences find her cabaret enjoyable and her comedy valuable. She draws upon her extensive life and stage experience in her performances, often exploring life's various aspects with honesty, pointedness, and entertainment. She has written satirical columns for publications like Kölner Express and authored the satirical novel 'Mein langer feuchter Wellnessweg' in 2009. Her motto is "Zink, Thing Positiv!" Zink approaches human weaknesses with understanding, including her own, and connects perceived individual tragedies with systemic issues. She has performed over 500 concerts throughout her career. Currently, she is scheduled to perform at the Stadthalle Rheinberg on an unspecified date, with tickets available from August 12, 2026, priced at €28 in advance and €31 at the door.
