Christian Borde, known professionally as Jules-Édouard Moustic, is a French humorist and journalist born on October 26, 1951, in Antony. He began his career in the early 1970s as a radio journalist at Radio Andorre, followed by over ten years at Radio Monte-Carlo. From 1987 to 1992, he contributed his writing talents to Les Nuls, working on sketches and appearing in fake advertisements. His involvement extended to shows like A.B.C.D. Nuls, Histoire(s) de la télévision, and Les Nuls L'émission, as well as writing for Les Guignols de l'info between 1988 and 1989. A significant portion of Moustic’s career is defined by his work with the Groland universe. In 1992, he created and hosted 'Les Nouvelles' on Ce soir avec les Nouveaux, marking the beginning of this fictional world. He portrayed Jules-Édouard Moustic, a parodic news anchor, in various Groland-related shows from the early 1990s until September 2018, including Les Nouvelles Neuves, CANAL International, Le 20 h 20, Groland Sat, 7 jours au Groland, Bienvenue au Groland, Groland Magzine, Groland.con, Made in Groland, and Groland Le Zapoï. He also co-directed the film 'Groland le gros métrage' with Benoît Delépine in 2015, further solidifying his connection to this unique comedic creation. The humor within Groland relies on absurdity, and Moustic became recognized as the face of the fictional country. Beyond television, Jules-Édouard Moustic has explored other avenues of creative expression. He performed a one-man show called 'Moustic en gros' at the Théâtre du Rond-Point in December 2008 and appeared in the short film 'Le Meilleur Ami de l'homme' in 2012. Since March 24, 2012, he has hosted 'Mouv’stic mix' on Mouv’ radio. He is also the founder of the Black and Basque music festival in Bayonne, and runs a pirate radio station called 'I Have A Dream'. He published 'La Famille Patate' in 2000 and 'Journal de moi' in 2003. Currently, he resides in Guéthary, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, where he has lived with his family for approximately twenty years. He considers the Basque Country to be his 'umbilical cord', and participates in local cultural events. He is presently a guest on the ‘Ils font le Pays Basque’ podcast.
